L’Œil de Mars mixes science, technology, imagination and dreaming to focus on the special relationship between humans and Mars: yesterday, there was the fear to be invaded by Martians … today, there is the dream to be there. Those elements give us the desire to know, and offer us the emmotional delight created by curiosity on everyone. The eye is in fact curious and makes us curious. L’Œil de Mars develops this particular relationship to curiosity, and therefore to exploration and learning. This artwork makes curiosity and implies us in a research exercise on curiosity. It makes us explore and experiment the discovery process itself. It widely opens an uncommon window on a topic of scientific interest and on a place of common imagination: Mars.
