Science Festival - Intangible Fields
Le sas opens its doors with an art-science trail designed by artists and scientists. Free visit with mediators.
Marine fields, electromagnetic fields, gravitational fields or fields of flowers are always fields of interaction. Much happens there. Art and science readily cultivate the intangible in these relationships between beings and their environments. We are in the world before we perceive it; we are in it without perceiving everything. Between immersion and interaction, between sight, hearing and touch, between virtual, physical and biological reality, Des Champs d'immatériel offers several art-science journeys through some of the fields of earth, ocean and sky in which we move.

Exhibition of works by artists and scientists: Béatrice Albert, Charles Ménard, Emmanuelle Cochard, Frédéric Baudin, Nadia de Bernardi, Gérard Kubryk, Ikse Maître, Nathalie Guimbretière, Philippe Monerris, Sami Korhonen, Tim Schneider, Vincent Hulot
Free visit of the art-science installations with the artists and scientists and the mediators: Angela Corvino, Angéline Nemeth, Claire Barakat, Morgan Chabanon, Nicola Lorè

The sun, even at night
The art-science exhibition
Human beings are emotional and rational. They perceive, feel and understand the world only through the inseparable interplay of emotion and reason. They form their judgement only through their many interactions with their environment and with the beings who inhabit it. After all, they are in the world only through these interactions, which they learn to make their own and which make them who they are.
Crossing Le sas, some of these interactions may be revealed between art and science, from the invisible to the visible: at new distances, new wavelengths, new forms, new dimensions, new sounds – at your fingertips, on tiptoe, deep in your ears or at the back of your eyes, head held high.
As you cross Le sas, all these interactions are so many threads stretched towards the Sun: a personal cosmogony, a culture of artefacts, a playful immersion, a tangible sonata, the lightness of pollen, the fascination of the microscopic and the macroscopic. Woven from art and science, these few tenuous threads that connect us to the world are there to be grasped in passing.
